Ellen Tracy

Ellen Tracy was founded by Herbert Gallen in 1949 as a blouse company. The name was chosen randomly by Gallen and became a brand that was fashionable and reasonable in price. Linda Allard joins Ellen Tracy in 1962 as a design assistant (now as Director of Design), her name eventually added to the label. Young Cindy Crawford models the Ellen Tracy collection beginning in 1987. Ellen Tracy launched casual clothing lines in 1991 and dresses up the color white in 1995. They begin the 21st century with a collection of vibrant colors.
