  Gianfranco Ferre
Born in Legnano, Italy, Gianfranco Ferre was a fashion designer known as "the architect of fashion". He received a degree in architecture in 1969 and began designing accessories in 1970, as well as raincoats in 1972 for two years. He started his own company in 1974 and became Stylistic Director for Christian Dior in 1989, which ended in 1997. He received many awards, among them several highly acclaimed Italian fashion awards 'L'Occhio d'Oro'.
