  Givenchy
The House of Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Count Hubert James Marcel Taffin de Givenchy. Born in 1927, the French fashion designer was surrounded by a family of designers. His maternal great-grandfather was a set designer and his great-great-grandfather designed sets for the Paris Opera. He worked alongside Pierre Balmain and Christian Dior, as well as designer Elsa Schiaparelli from 1947 to 1951. In 1952 Givenchy opened his own design house at the Plaine Monceau in Paris. His first collection was "Bettina Graziani". At age 25, he was the youngest designer of Paris fashion industry. Although his first collections were created with cheap fabrics, due to financial reasons, customers still found an interest in his designs. Givenchy met Audrey Hepburn in 1953 and designed most of the wardrobe worn in her movies. His first perfume was also created for her, L'Interdit and Le de Givenchy. Givenchy retired in 1995.
